At our last event of the semester, Dr. Whitney gave an encouraging and convicting talk on service.

The Bible requires that we serve in our churches, but more importantly, we must serve with right hearts.  It will be hard to serve when there is no appreciation and when no one even knows how we’re serving.  But Christ will know; and if we serve as to him and not to man, with joy, it will be counted to us as righteousness.  It will be hard when no one else is willing to serve, and it’s important that alongside our husbands, or just others in the church, that we encourage all church members to serve.  We need to pray for our churches to become serving churches, because those who will serve throughout their lifetimes are rare.  Dr. Whitney also encouraged us not to overwhelm ourselves.  “Do what you can” and trust that the Lord will call others to do the rest.

Thank you, everyone, for being a part of our Pendergraph event!  Thank you, Dr. Whitney, for serving us!
