I am currently reading “Heaven is Real” by Don Piper. This book is focusing on helping people get over tragic or even not so tragic situations in their lives. He helps put everyday hardships into perspective. He reveals how to turn life’s trials into spiritual lessons.

That’s in addition to any books required for classes.

I am currently reading “Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life” by Dr. Donald Whitney. It’s a very convicting, yet encouraging read. It’s easy to understand, and filled with eye-opening truth.

I’m also in the process of reading “David Copperfield” by Charles Dickens. I’ve had a hunger to read classics lately, and this fits that category! (I read “Treasure Island” before starting this one, and honestly, just wasn’t impressed.) It’s a thick book, and the verbage is sometimes unintelligeble (phrases / slang we no longer use) but overall is easy to comprehend. I’m only about 100 pages in so far, so I’m looking forward to the continuing story!

Just finished reading “Crazy Love” by Francis Chan. He describes lukewarm Christians and challenges Christians to take God at His word. He provides real life accounts of believers who have given their all in obedience to God. He asks each of us what we are doing in our lives that requires faith and trust in God.

I am reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan for the second time. Chan’s goal for his readers is to give them such a big and true view of God that they cannot help but to worship him and put their own life into a biblical perspective. I am currently using it to disciple a young lady in the faith. Easy read, very convicting!

This is book five of the swans are not silent series!!
I am most encouraged in my walk with reading biographies of heros of the faith who were persecuted and preserved greatly for the Gospel! There stories and trials are intense and Christ is glorified greatly in there lives. They leave us here on earth with rich devotions of our God during there times! These stories are a must read in the lives of christians who desire to persevere in the midst of many struggles with the Gospel being so ever made glorious to every eye who sees it!
